Note Contents:
This folder depicts the installation of a temporary floor framework in the vicinity of the central pit. The images document the assembly of the framework by Dany Ray and project staff, providing multiple perspectives, from north, northeast, and south views, and including construction of the wooden ramp at the west end of the north platform and its construction (northwest and westward perspectives), and all stages of assembly and placement of the temporary floor framework in various orientations.
Abstract:
The presence of a large rough rectangular pit in the center of the floor of the burial chamber has always made movement difficult between the two platforms to the north and south. It was felt that a temporary wood platform at the west end of this pit, in communication with the permanent wood platform to the north would be necessary to make movement safe in this area as well as to provide a staging platform for fragments awaiting assembly. A wooden ramp was necessary to reach the north platform from the central floor. For more information on the installation of temporary wooden platforms, see section IV.3 in the Final Report.
