Conservation Note:
On March 21, 2004, the tomb of Ramesses VI was officially reopened by the Minister of Culture, H.E. Farouk Hosni and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass. Representatives from the American Embassy, the United States Agency for International Development, the American Research Center in Egypt, the Egyptian and foreign media and various officials of the Ministry of Culture and the Supreme Council of Antiquities were present. Copies of an illustrated brochure produced by the Egyptian Antiquities Project of the American Research Center in Egypt with text in English and Arabic were provided for all attending the ceremony. The achievements of the project were favorably received by the Egyptian authorities.
